Ayub Miyaji: 20 thousand plots of land and 160 houses for homeless people are being constructed for the second time in Jamizuri, a hilly township under the jurisdiction of Dohazari municipality in Chandanashe, in the fifth phase of the Asharyan-2 project. These 160 houses of the Jamijuri shelter project are being built in difficult areas with hilly, hilly land and a labor shortage during paddy harvesting season.
On May 31 (Friday), it was seen that the workers completed the rescue work of the old 40 houses of Dohazari Adarsh village under the implementation of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief and the Ministry of Lands, built in 2005. After that, they are busy making the foundation of 10–15 houses on the west side after finishing the work of cutting and leveling the hilly soil. They said that they have already stocked the materials required for 100 houses.
Manik, the conductor in charge of the work, said that although there is pressure to complete the work within the month of June, various complications are hindering the completion of the work on time. Especially in remote areas, there is a lack of delivery of goods on time due to a broken bridge in the Satchari Canal, but due to the construction of a road that was broken by water flow, a lack of sufficient labor during the paddy harvesting season, workers going on holiday during Eid al-Adha, and hilly, hilly land according to work orders. He told them that they had to work through complications in building the foundation.
Especially while keeping the height of all the rooms equal, the foundations of some rooms have to be placed above and below the ground. But if there are 18 inches below the ground and 18 inches above the ground in the work order, the foundation of the house is strong. However, they promised to finish Raj’s work beautifully in all these adversities.
In this regard, the project implementation president and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mahmuda Begum asked whether the project will be completed by June and about the progress of this work, how much money and the estimated cost for the construction of each house. The current project will be protected from elephant attacks and criminals. When asked whether the side wall will be constructed and if the selection of the beneficiaries is completed, the information should be given to the media workers to check the list in an open place and whether any kind of consultant’s assistance is being taken to check the quality of the work to make the house under construction habitable, he said. Everything is being done according to the rules.
It is known that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the fifth phase of the house transfer program by organizing a program this month. The costing of this project is principled to be done following the Direct Purchase Method (DPM).
