Narsingdi Correspondent: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that BNP’s chanting around 10th will not work. Because Awami League always runs on people’s power. That is why we believe in elections. I believe in the people’s mandate.
He said this while inaugurating the new building of Narsingdi’s Manohardi police station on Wednesday (November 23) at noon.
The Home Minister said that those who believe in conspiracy and come to power with the barrel of a gun have always been making one conspiracy after another.
BNP will gather in Dhaka and seize power with one demand, will occupy Dhaka. That is what they have been saying. If any disturbance is created in the name of this 10th public gathering, the law and order forces will resist it.
Asaduzzaman said, not only Bangladesh, militancy is a global problem. The kidnapping of two militants from the courthouse was pre-planned by the militants hiding in the country. Militants in hiding have done this to reveal their location. The government is working to eradicate militancy including arresting them.
He also said that in 2013 and 2014, people have not been forgotten about fire terror, people were burnt to death. The people of this country witnessed fire terror for 42 consecutive days. He said, drugs are a deadly addiction. He called on the parents to prevent their children from this addiction.
Later, in the afternoon, he inaugurated the mosque in Hirmara area of Raipur upazila and inaugurated the mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the foundation office built by AKM Bajlur Rahman and Shahanara Begum Foundation in the neighborhood of the upazila.
