Comilla Correspondent: Five people, including two youths from Chittagong, were killed when an AC bus lost control and plunged into a ditch on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Chauddagram, Comilla. The accident took place in the Basantpur area of the highway on Friday (May 17).
Chauddagram Fire Service Sub Officer Biplab Kumar Nath confirmed this information. Among the victims, two from Chittagong have been identified. They are Mohammad Hossain (30), son of Motiur Rahman of Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar, and Badrul Hasan Riyad (26), son of Nurul Absar of Baharchhara village, Banshkhali, Chittagong.
It is known that the double-decker bus of Relax Paribahan was going from Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar via Chittagong. Lost control on the way and fell into a ditch. Five passengers on the bus died on the spot. 15 others were injured.
Biplab Kumar Nath said, “I rescued the injured and sent them to the Upazila Health Complex. With the help of police and locals, we recovered the bodies of five dead people from inside the car. Our rescue mission is over. I have not yet identified the identities of three of the victims.
