Kushtia Correspondent: Additional Superintendent of Police of Bheramara Circle and Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bheramara Police Station are vacant for the last 2 months in Bheramara of Kushtia. Common people are suffering because these two posts are vacant. There has been stagnation in maintaining law and order. Theft-crime is increasing. Ordinary people who come to take services are harassed and in trouble.
According to related sources, Additional Superintendent of Police Yashir Arafat of Bheramara Circle was transferred to Dhaka SDC on October 1 due to transfer. Assistant Superintendent of Police Ajmal Hossain of Mirpur Circle is now performing additional duties in this position. On September 22, Mirpur police station OC Golam Mostafa joined Bheramara police station. After a month and a half, he was transferred to DMP on November 5. After the departure of these two officials, no one has joined these posts till now.
Locals said that two important officials are missing. Two other murders, including one murder, took place recently. There is still tension in those areas. In such a situation, it is necessary to quickly fill important vacant posts to keep the law and order situation under control. Many are complaining that due to the absence of OC, the duty officer is not receiving the calls of common people. Except for important people only. The suffering of the victims is increasing in getting services.
