Own correspondent: 1 country-made weapon, 1 sharp blade, and weapon-making equipment were recovered in Lohagara, South Chittagong, during the police operation. These weapons were recovered from Rifat’s house in the Telibila area of the Charamba Union of the Upazila at around 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 5. The weapons are found on Rifat’s bed. Rashedul Islam, officer-in-charge of Lohagara police station, led the police operation. There were other police officers and constables at the police station. It is learned that Charamba Union Awami League President and former Chairman Master Shafiqur Rahman, Awami League General Secretary Ashab Uddin, and other leaders were with the raid.
The officer in charge of Lohagara police station said Rifat is a terrorist. It has been causing terror in the area for a long time. The operation was conducted on the basis of secret information. Realizing the presence of the police before the operation, Rifat managed to escape from the house.
