Nagar Reporter: Rangunia is far ahead in the bond of harmony compared to other areas of Bangladesh. All ethnic groups, including Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Chakmas, Marmas, and Christians, coexist in our area. There are separate evening halls for SSC candidates in two centers for Christians all over Bangladesh, one of which is in our Rangunia. Rangunia is a town bound in harmony.
The foreign minister said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the Eid reunion ceremony of Rangunia residents living in Chittagong City on Saturday (April 20). Rangunia Samiti-Chittagong organized a meet and greet function at the YNT Convention Center on Sirajudullah Road in the city.
Dr. Hasan Mahmud said, I am a student of environmental science. The environment plays a huge role in shaping the human mind. You will see that the people of the elite region are a little temperamental, while the people of the cold main country are a little calmer, and the people of the area surrounded by green nature are calmer. Rangunia is surrounded by hills, mountains, and rivers. So the people of Rangunia are a bit quiet. I will not say that there are no other kinds of people here either. However, the people of Rangunia are more peaceful and hospitable than the people of other upazilas.
Referring to Chittagong’s Rangunia Samiti as a completely different and effective Samiti from other upazilas, the Foreign Minister said, I congratulate all those who formed this Samiti at its inception and who are now associated with it. Many talented people have been produced in Rangunia; it is said in Dhaka; it is said in Chittagong. A lot of developments have taken place in Rangunia, which we cannot see now. The boy who left the country 15 years ago and is now in Rangunia does not understand that this is his native Rangunia.
He said that an initiative has been taken to widen the Kaptai road by 16 feet on both sides, and care is being taken to avoid harming the environment. I have provided employment to thousands of people in Rangunia and have not turned back anyone who has gone to me. I am grateful to the people of Rangunia for the selfless support they have given me for the past 15 years. I do not have the power to repay it.
