Bandarban Correspondent: A new armed group, Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF), attempted to rob Sonali and Krishi Banks in Thanchi Upazila of Bandarban. At that time, they surrounded the market and fired several rounds of blank bullets.
Afzal Karim, Managing Director (MD) of the state-owned Sonali Bank, said that the attempted robbery took place around 1 o’clock on Wednesday.
He said that he received information about the attack on the Thanchi branch of Sonali Bank. The police, RAB, and Army went to the spot. They are working.
According to local sources, the group of 25 to 30 members stole the mobile phones of several people in the market.
Earlier, it was reported that the new armed group Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) attacked Sonali Bank in Ruma, Bandarban, on Tuesday around 9 p.m. and looted money and 14 weapons.
