An oil truck overturned and caught fire in five vehicles; seven were burned, and one person died

Dhaka Bureau: An oil truck overturned and caught fire on the Dhaka-Aricha highway in the Zorpul area of Savar. Four other cars nearby were burned in the fire. One person died on the spot after being burned in the fire. Besides, seven people were reported to have been burned.

The accident took place on Tuesday (April 2) around 5:30 a.m. in Hemayetpur, in the Jorpul area of the Dhaka-Aricha highway. After receiving the information, three vehicles of the Savar Fire Service tried to bring the fire under control around 7 a.m..

Savar Fire Service duty officer Asad confirmed this information. He said that the fire involving five vehicles has already been brought under control. The burned victims were rescued and sent to the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in the capital.

It is said that the deceased, Iqbal, used to load and unload cement trucks. His home is in the Chowagacha upazila of Jessore. The names of the victims were not immediately known.

In charge of the Savar Highway Police Station. Babul said that four trucks and a private car were burned when an oil truck overturned and caught fire in the Jorpul area of Hemayetpur in the morning. One person was killed. After the incident, traffic on the Dhaka-Aricha highway was stopped. The police are working to restore traffic flow.
