Shariatpur Correspondent: A construction worker named Lokman Sheikh (45) was killed in a head-on collision between a covered van and Nachiman at Rudrakar in Shariatpur. Six people were injured in this incident. The incident took place on Tuesday (March 12) at around 6 a.m. in the Amin Bazar area of Sadar Upazila.
Deceased Lokman Sheikh is the son of deceased Manab Sheikh of Hogla Maksahar area of Rudrakar Union of Upazila. He is survived by his wife and two children.
According to local relatives and police sources, on Tuesday morning, seven laborers, including Lokman Sheikh, were going to Manohar Bazar from Hogla Maksahar on Nachimon for work. When Amin reached the Bazar area, Nachiman, who was carrying them, collided head-on with a Chandpur-bound covered van coming from the opposite direction. At that time, Lokman Sheikh fell from Nachiman, fell on the road, and died on the spot due to the wheels of the covered van. Locals rescued the injured from the spot and sent them to the district headquarters hospital.
The deceased Lokman Sheikh’s brother and cousin, Md. Hannan, said that the deceased Lokman Sheikh has two children and a wife. Now the government should make arrangements for this family to live well. Moreover, I want justice for those who caused this accident.
Palong Model Police Sub-Inspector Iftekhairul said that one person died in the accident. The injured are being treated at Sadar Hospital.
