Dhaka Bureau: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the V-SATNET communication system attached to the force with the help of various physical infrastructures of the Bangladesh Coast Guard and Bangabandhu Satellite.

He inaugurated the V-SATNET communication system at the Coast Guard Headquarters in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 10.

Earlier, the Prime Minister arrived at the Coast Guard headquarters at around 10 a.m. to participate in the 29th anniversary celebration and award ceremony of the Coast Guard.

In his opening speech, the Prime Minister said that the Father of the Nation was the first to make the maritime boundary law. No initiative was taken by any government that came to power after the massacre of 1975.

Bangladesh has its own border in the sea. The Awami League government has made this possible by maintaining friendly relations with Myanmar and India.

He also said that two new ships and helicopters are being added to the Coast Guard. A modern maritime surveillance system will be added. The Bangladesh Coast Guard is going to be a three-dimensional force soon.

He said Coast Guard members are now very skilled in building their own training bays and adding modern vessels.
