Sylhet Correspondent: A child was killed in a head-on collision between a tourist bus going to Jaflong and a stone-laden truck in Sylhet. 10 more people were injured in this incident.
The accident took place on the Tamabil Highway in the Umanpur area of Jaintapur upazila on Friday (March 8) around 1 p.m..
The name of the dead child is Parash (6). He is the son of Russell Mia of Salihar village of Gouripur police station in Mymensingh district.
According to local sources, the child died on the spot after a head-on collision between a stone-laden truck and a Jaflong-bound tourist bus. Apart from this, at least 10 people were injured in the accident.
It is known that the injured have been admitted to different hospitals in Sylhet.
The officer-in-charge (OC) of Jaintapur Model Police Station, Tajul Islam, said that after receiving the information, we went to the spot and started rescue work. The bus overturned in the accident, and the truck overturned on the side of the road. Legal action will be taken in this regard.
