Dhaka Bureau: Environment, Forestry, and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury said that bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the United States will be strengthened in the coming days based on measures related to environment and climate. These issues are priority areas for the United States, so the United States wants to work with us to combat climate change.
The environment minister said these things to reporters after a productive meeting with Afrin Akhtar, the US State Department’s Deputy Assistant Minister for South and Central Asian Affairs, at his office at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Sunday (February 25).
The minister also said that we talked about how they will help us meet our needs in light of the environment and climate change. We want to establish a new platform to fight climate change by setting up a $15 billion fund. All our development partners can help there. I am optimistic; America will be too. They will keep our needs in mind in their US plans.
The discussion emphasized the importance of cooperative efforts between the United States and Bangladesh to address environmental challenges, address climate change, conserve natural resources, and promote sustainable development. Both sides reiterated their commitment to work together to address environmental challenges and ensure sustainable benefits for current and future generations of the region.
