Everyone has to work together to maintain law and order

Own Correspondent: Member of Parliament (Chittagong-15) Abdul Motaleb, CIP, has called upon all concerned to work together to protect law and order. Upazila administration, police station administration, and public representatives have to play a tough role in stopping the cutting of hills in Lohagara, the cutting of fertile soil on the surface of agricultural land, and the illegal extraction of sand. The Member of Parliament suggested that whoever committed the crime should be brought under the law. Member of Parliament Abdul Motaleb CIP spoke at the Lohagara Upazila monthly law and order and coordination meeting on Tuesday, February 20. The law and order meeting started at the Lohagara Upazila conference room at 11 a.m. It was presided over by Upazila Executive Officer Muhammad Inamul Hasan. Later, Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman M. Ibrahim Kabir presided over the monthly coordination meeting.

The member of parliament also said in the coordination meeting that the honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged us to complete any developmental work quickly. Therefore, almost all works, including the infrastructural development of Lohagara upazila, should be completed quickly. Moreover, he advised supplying the illegally seized sand quickly after the auction. Otherwise, there is a possibility of more smuggling of auction documents. Complaints were raised in the meeting that many have suffered losses by participating in online gambling in the Adhunagar area. The attention of the concerned authorities has been drawn to stopping this gambling. In addition, the meeting called for the necessary measures to solve the problems of the Muktijoddha complex built in Lohagara upazila and launch it quickly.

Upazila Assistant Commissioner Bhumi Nazmun Lael, Officer-in-Charge of Lohagara Police Station Rashedul Islam, Upazila Awami League President Khorshed Alam Chowdhury, and General Secretary Md. Salah Uddin Hero. Upazila Muktijoddha Sangsad Commander Bir Muktijoddha Akhter Ahmad Sikdar, Lohagara Press Club President Bir Muktijoddha Nurul Islam, Upazila Muktijoddha Sangsad Deputy Commander Bir Muktijoddha Abdul Hamid, Awami Leader and Press Club General Secretary Abul Kalam Azad, Upazila Engineer Ifran Bin Munir, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Mahbubul Alam. Shaon, and Union Parishad chairmen. An Upazila law and order and coordination meeting was attended by Upazila Parishad Women Vice Jasmine Akter along with many officials from different departments of the Upazila administration.
