Comilla Correspondent: Police have arrested a madrasa teacher for allegedly impregnating a class IV student after rape in Devidwar upazila of Comilla.
The father of the rape victim said on Saturday (February 17) afternoon. A case has been filed against Faizur Rahman (40) under the Prevention of Torture against Women and Children Act. Later in the afternoon, the police arrested him and sent him to court.
Arrested is Faizur Rahman, son of deceased Hafez Khalilur Rahman of Daroga House in the Ikra Nagari area of the municipality.
According to the source of the case, Faizur called the student to sweep her room after the madrasa holiday at noon on November 23 last year and raped her.
The victim girl’s father said that around 12:30 on January 23, when the girl felt severe pain in her stomach, she was taken to a clinic in Devidwar. The doctor on duty asked to do an ultrasonogram. Later, the report showed that my daughter was pregnant.
The victim of the rape said that the teacher threatened to kill her if she told anyone about it. So he could not tell anyone out of shame and fear.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Debidwar police station. Nayan Mia said that the teacher was arrested at his house on Saturday morning. In the initial interrogation, he confessed to the rape. A case has been filed at the police station in this incident. He was sent to court later in the afternoon.
