Entertainment Desk: Samsul Alam has been elected as the president of Bangladesh Film Club, an association of film industry stakeholders, by getting 266 votes. His rival presidential candidate, Kamal Md. Kibria Lipu, got 204 votes.
All but one of Samsul Alam’s panels won. The following executive members won the post: Mojaharul Islam Obaid (256 votes), Ashiqur Rahman Nadeem (259 votes), M. A. Kamal (274 votes), Md. Iqbal Hossain Joy (283 votes), Apoorba Roy (278 votes), Delwar Jahan Jhantu (315 votes), Md. Abdullah Zeyad (243 votes), Alexander Bo (265 votes), Riana Rahman Poly (246 votes), and Shabnam Parveen (257 votes).
Earlier on Friday (February 16), polling for the organization’s elections was held continuously from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at BFDC.
Two panels participated in this election. A Samsul Alam-Mo. Iqbal Hossain Joy, the other Kamal Mohammad Kibria Lipu-Atikur Rahman Nadeem.
However, according to the members of the film club, Samsul Alam-Md. Iqbal Hussain wins the entire panel. Khorshed Alam Khosru served as Chief Election Commissioner.
