Dhaka Bureau: Taking into account the demand of passengers, the travel time of Metrorail has been reduced from 10 minutes to 8 minutes during peak hours, which has been effective from Saturday (February 17) morning. 26 new trains have been added to Metrorail. As a result, it has been possible to reduce the break and start running on Saturday. Passengers can be given more benefits when the train comes in front.
The managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited, MN Chiddik, confirmed the matter and told the media that the peak hour from Uttara North to Motijheel has been determined from 7:31 a.m. to 11:48 a.m. And the ‘peak hour’ from Motijheel is from 8:01 a.m. to 12:08 p.m. Meanwhile, the time between metro rail movements has been reduced from 10 minutes to 8 minutes.
However, the ‘off peak hour’ from Uttara North is from 11:49 a.m. to 3:12 p.m. And the ‘off peak hour’ from Motijheel is from 12:09 PM to 3:52 PM. At this time, Metrorail will run every 12 minutes as before. Again, ‘Peak Hour’ has been observed from Uttara Uttara to 3:12 PM to 8:11 PM. At this time, Metrorail will run every 8 minutes. And the ‘peak hour’ from Motijheel is 3:53 PM.
Apart from this, according to the new rules, the timing of metro rail movement from Uttara North to Motijheel route from 7.10 am to 7.30 am has been fixed for 10 minutes during ‘Special Off Peak Hour’. Again, it has been decided to run metro rail every 10 minutes from Motijheel to Uttara North route from 7.30 am to 8 am, considering’special off peak hour’.
At present, Metrorail runs on the Uttara-Motijheel route from 7:10 a.m. to 8:40 p.m. every day except Friday. Only MRT and Rapid Pass users can travel on the two metros departing from Uttara Uttara station at 7:10 a.m. and 7:20 a.m. Only passengers using MRT and Rapid Pass will be able to travel on Metrorail departing from Motijheel station after 8 p.m..
