Naogaon representative: Voting for the Naogaon-2 seat in the 12th National Assembly is underway. Voting started at 8 a.m. today, Monday (February 12), and will continue non-stop till 4 p.m.
Earlier, the ballot paper reached the center at 5 a.m.
Naogaon-2 Constituency consists of two upazilas, namely Patnitala and Dhamurhat. The total number of voters in the constituency is 3 lakh 56 thousand, or 132 people. There are 124 polling stations. 804 people will serve as polling officers, including 71 presiding officers and 402 assistant presiding officers. And the number of permanent polling booths is 402, and temporary polling booths are 28 in 71 polling stations. There will be 16 Executive Magistrates on polling day.
District Returning Officer Gholam Mawla said the police, Ansar, police mobile team, striking team, and checkpost are working regularly in important centers and general centers, besides a large number of executive magistrates and judicial magistrates in charge of security and polling. The commission has taken all measures to hold the election peacefully.
On December 29, the EC announced the postponement of the twelfth parliamentary election due to the death of independent candidate Aminul Haque. After that, the election commission announced the new election date of February 12. A total of four candidates, including the Awami League, Jatiya Party, and Independent, are contesting the election.
