Actor Ahmed Rubel is no more

Entertainment Desk: Popular actor Ahmed Rubel passed away (Inna Lillahi, Rajiun). He died at a private hospital in the capital on Wednesday around 6 p.m.

Film director Nurul Alam Atiq told the media that Ahmed Rubel suffered a heart attack this afternoon.

This evening, there was a special screening of Nurul Alam Atiq’s new movie Peyara Subas at a multiplex in Dhaka. Ahmed Rubel played an important role in the movie. The popular actor was supposed to attend this exhibition.

Ahmed Rajib Rubel, alias Ahmed Rubel, was born into a noble family in Rajarampur village of Chapainawabganj city on May 3, 1968. However, he has lived in Dhaka since childhood. He was currently living permanently in Gazipur, Dhaka, with his family.

Ahmed Rubel’s performance is handwritten from Salim Al Din’s ‘Dhaka Theatre’. His first play was Ghiyas Uddin Selim’s ‘Swapnayatra’. He then acted in Humayun Ahmed’s Eid play ‘Poka’, where his character ‘Gora Majid’ became widely popular.

Ahmed Rubel gained popularity by acting in the Ekushey Television serial drama ‘Pret’. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal wrote the story of the ghost drama directed by Ahir Alam. Since then, engagement in dramas and movies has continued to increase.

At one point, Nandit started acting under the direction of writer, playwright, and director Humayun Ahmed. Ahmed Rubel acted in the movie Shyamal Chaya, directed by him. He has also acted in many serial dramas.

Salahuddin Lovelu’s sensational play ‘Ranger Manhoo’ and Mustafa Sarwar Faruqi’s popular play ’69’ delighted the audience with their eloquent performances.

Stage and small screen actor Ahmed Rubel entered the silver screen (film) in 1993 with the movie ‘Akheri Hamal’. Later, he acted in ‘Chandrakatha’, ‘Bachelor’, ‘Guerrilla’, and ‘The Last Tagore’.

Since 2005, he has regularly acted in television dramas. He also worked on stage for a long time as a member of Dhaka Theater. In 2014, he played the lead role in ‘Parapar’ directed by Indian director Sanjay Nag.
