Entertainment Desk: The most prestigious music award of the year, ‘Grammy Award 2024’ was held at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The 66th Annual Grammy Awards on February 4 honored the best songs, tunes, albums, and music stars of the year in a lavish ceremony.
Record of the Year went to Miley Cyrus for her ‘Flower’ album, The New York Times reports. The singer also bagged the best solo performance award (Flower).
Billie Eilish and her brother Phineas won Song of the Year. They received this award for the song What Was I Made For? This song was in the movie Barbie. On the other hand, Taylor Swift received this award for the 13th time.
Taylor Swift won the award for Best Pop Vocal Album. He received this title for his Midnight album.
Top nominee SZA (Snooz) took home the award in the Best R&B Song category. SZA also took home the award for Best Progressive R&B Album (Snooz). SZA also took home the award for Best Joint Performance with Phoebe Bridgers.
Carol-G’s ‘Manana Chhera Bonito’ was adjudged the best regional album. Victoria Monet was named the best new artist of the year. The award for Best Folk Album went to Joni Mitchell (Jonni Mitchell at Newport).
The Best Rap Album went to Killer Mike’s ‘Michael’. Boygenius (Not Strong Enough) won Best Rock Performance.
Grammy Awards are also given to the best performers of the year in other categories. They won the year award in a total of 94 categories.
Hosted by Trevor Noah, stars such as SZA, Billy Joel, Joni Mitchell, Dua Lipa, Luke Combs, and Burna Boy performed on the Grammy stage this year.
