Dhaka Bureau: On the occasion of International Men’s Day on 19 November 2022, Bangladesh-German Help for Man organized a human chain at the National Press Club to demand the amendment of the Prevention of Men Torture Act and Women Torture Cases. At that time, Alif Mohiuddin, convener of the organization in Dhaka city, said that no one should be arrested in women abuse cases without investigation.
Organizational secretary of the organization Morsalin Babu of Nilphamari district, businessmen Ramzan Ahmed, Zaheed Ahmed, Al Amin, Sumel Ahmed, Yusuf Ahmed, Hannan Ahmed Masud Ahmed, Md. Sumon etc. were present in the human chain.
Engineer Mazharul Mannan Mia, chairman of the human chain organization, said that by arresting men without investigation in false women abuse cases, men are being reduced in (our) society which is ending our orderly family. Most affected are men and children. For this, I am demanding gender neutral law and male violence suppression law.
Expatriate brothers are the most victims of this case. Thousands of expatriate cases are happening all over Bangladesh, which do not come in the media, no one listens to the silent cry of men. I demand to be corrected.
