Dhaka Bureau: The first phase of Biswa Ijtema, the second largest gathering of Muslims, has started with Ambayan on the Turag shore of Tongir near the capital.
Maulana Ahmad Batla of Pakistan delivered the prayer after the Fajr prayer on Friday (February 2). Maulana Nurur Rahman compiled it in Bengali. With this, the first phase of the three-day World Ijtema officially began. It will end with the last prayer on Sunday.
It is known that Maulana Ziaul Haque of Pakistan will conduct the training today at 10 a.m. Jordan’s Maulana Omar Khatib will speak after Juma. Hafez Maulana Zubair of Bangladesh will recite Bad Asr. India’s Maulana Ahmad Lat will give a speech after Maghrib on Friday.
The next day, on Saturday, there is a special speech for scholars, madrassas, and university students in the Ijtema Maidan. On this day, public marriages without dowry will be organized next to the main stage of Baad Asr Ijtema Ground. Companions of Tablighi have a great interest in organizing mass weddings in the field of Ijtema.
Earlier on Thursday, the regional debate started after dawn. Pilgrims from different parts of the country are coming in droves to the Ijtema Maidan. Turagatir is becoming the face of pilgrims. Law and order security forces are ready to ensure the safety of the worshippers. Mahfuz Hannan, the top instructor of the World Ijtema organizing committee, said that the overall preparation work for Ijtema has been completed. The followers of Maulana Zobair will participate in the Ijtema of the first phase, and the followers of Maulana Saad Kandhalvi in the second phase.
