The first session of the twelfth parliament is tomorrow

Dhaka Bureau: The term of the 11th National Parliament ends today, Monday (January 29). The journey of the 12th National Parliament will start tomorrow, Tuesday. The first session of the parliament will be held at 3 p.m. on this day.
 
Awami League has formed a rocker for the fourth time in a row after getting absolute victory in the 12th parliamentary elections. Like the 11th parliament, this time as the speaker. The party has nominated Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury and Shamsul Haque Tuku as Deputy Speakers. Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury and Deputy Speaker Shamsul Haque Tukui will be the winners this time, as the Awami League has a single majority in the parliament.

The speaker and deputy speaker will be elected in the first session. Then President Mohammad Sahabuddin will address. The Parliament Secretariat has completed all preparations for the first session. In the meantime, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Deputy Leader Matia Chowdhury have been elected as Parliament Leaders. Jatiya Party’s GM Quader and Deputy Leader Anisul Islam Mahmud became the opposition leaders.

In the twelfth parliament, there are 223 members of parliament from the Awami League, 62 independent members of parliament, 11 members from the Jatiya Party, one member from the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, one member from the Workers’ Party, and one member from the Kalyan Party.
