Dhaka Bureau: Famous Mitsubishi Heavy Industries of Japan has expressed its interest in cooperating in the construction of another fertilizer factory on the lines of the Ghorashal Palash Fertilizer Factory. The delegation of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries expressed this interest during a meeting with Industry Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun MP at the Ministry of Industry in Motijheel in the capital today.
Ghorashal Palash Urea Fertilizer Project Manager (Yuichi Sayama) led the delegation, and project-related officials were present. Besides, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Industry SM Alam and Joint Secretary Md. Abdul Waheed were present at this time.
The Industries Minister said that, as Mitsubishi has cooperated in setting up the Ghorashal Palash Urea Fertilizer Factory, we hope to get their cooperation in constructing a gas-based fertilizer factory in Bhola. At Bhola, we are checking the feasibility. If enough gas is available, I will build another fertilizer factory on a smaller scale on the model of the Ghorashal Palash fertilizer factory. It has an annual production capacity of 5 million tons.
The Mitsubishi delegation presented the latest status of the Ghorashal Palash Fertilizer Factory to the Industry Minister and said that they will officially transfer the fertilizer factory to Bangladesh by the end of February.
