Own Correspondent: Three motorcyclists were killed on the spot in a head-on collision between a truck and a bus in Padua Union of Lohagara Upazila of Chittagong South District.
The incident took place on Monday (January 22) at quarter past 4 in the afternoon on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway in the No. 2 Naya Para area of Padua Union.
The deceased are Abshar Uddin (35) son of Haji Jalal Ahmed of Naya Para of Padua Union of Lohagara Upazila, Md Zubair (25) son of Abdul Quader of Hanifa Para Elias member of Adhunagar Union, and Md Zubair (25) of Dakshin Rajanagar Dhamarhat area of Rangunia Upazila. Babul’s son, Zaheed (27).
Eyewitnesses said that there was a head-on collision between a Chittagong-bound motorcycle and a cargo truck in the opposite direction. All three motorcyclists died on the spot.
The doctor on duty at Lohagara Upzera Health Complex said that the police brought the three people killed in the road accident to the hospital. But they died before being brought to the hospital.
The officer-in-charge of Dohazari Highway Police Station, Khan Muhammad Erfan, said, I sent the force to the spot after receiving the information. Legal action will be taken in this case.
