District Secondary Education Officer Shamchul Aram said that the schools have been closed until further instructions after learning about the mild cold.
According to the news in various educational institutions in the district, classes were going on from 8 a.m. When the school was declared closed at a quarter past 11, the principal of the school gave leave to the students.
Acting Head Teacher of Kurigram Government High School for Girls, Sheikh Md. Abdul Mannan, said, I started teaching as usual because I did not get the instruction to close the school. After receiving the letter around 11:15 a.m., the school holiday was announced.
Subal Chandra Sarkar, Officer-in-Charge of Kurigram’s Rajarhat Meteorological Office, said the lowest temperature recorded in the district today was 9 degrees Celsius. Such a temperature may continue for another day or two.
