Dhaka Bureau: Allegations have been made that the electoral camp and supporters of Mrinal Kanti Das, the candidate for Munshiganj-3 constituency in the 12th National Assembly elections, were attacked and fired upon. A supporter of the boat named Dalim Sarkar (30) was shot and died in the hospital.
It has been alleged that supporters of independent candidate Faisal Biplab carried out the attack. The officer-in-charge (OC) of Munshiganj Sadar police station, Aminul Islam, confirmed the attack.
Dalim died while undergoing treatment at the hospital on Thursday (January 4). Earlier, the boat camp of Munshikandi village in Mollakandi union of Sadar upazila was attacked last night.
According to local sources, a group of 10 people led by Sohag and Shipon, supporters of Kanchi Prateek, suddenly opened fire while staying at the boat camp in the Munshikandi area.
Bringing injured Dalim to Dham. Shahin Alam said that the opponents fired two shots at Dalim. One hits the left side of his chest. He was quickly rescued and taken to Munshiganj Sadar Hospital. From there, he was brought to Dhaka Medical. He died in the morning while undergoing treatment.
Assistant in-charge of DMK Police Camp Masud Khan said that Dalim died while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The body has been kept in the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for a post-mortem.
