Dhaka Bureau: A shipbuilding worker named Nuruzzaman was killed in a gas cylinder explosion at a dockyard in Rupganj, Narayanganj. Two more workers named Sahidul and Yunus Mia were injured in this incident.
The incident happened on Wednesday (November 16) around 10:30 a.m. on the Shanghai-8 ship of King Fisher Dockyard in Darikandi area of the upazila.
The deceased worker Nuruzzaman was a resident of Doha area of Dhaka.
Shahidul Islam Khan, Deputy Assistant Inspector of Rupganj Police Station, said that while working on the Shanghai-8 ship of King Fisher Dockyard in Darikandi area, a gas cylinder suddenly exploded. Three people were injured. They were rescued in a critical condition and taken to the local US Bangla Medical College Hospital where Nuruzzaman died.
He also said that the body of the deceased was recovered and sent to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
