Satkania Representative: Based on the complaints of Abdul Motaleb, the independent candidate of the eagle symbol in the Chittagong-15 seat and the candidate of the boat symbol of the Awami League, Professor Dr. The Election Commission has withdrawn Mamun Mia, the gunman of Abu Reza Muhammad Nezamuddin Nadvi MP.

Independent candidate Abdul Motaleb made a complaint to Returning Officer and Chittagong District Commissioner Abul Basar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman yesterday (December 25).
In the complaint, independent candidate Motaleb said that the rival candidate of Chittagong-15 constituency, Abu Reza Muhammad Nezamuddin Nadvi, is keeping the government gunman Mamun Mia, who has been in charge for so long, with him all the time in his election campaign and is intimidating the voters and supporters of other candidates, local leaders, and workers, even in various centers and near the voters. Cash distribution by gunmen has also been reported.
14(2) of the Rules of Conduct of Political Parties and Candidates in Elections, 2008, for any candidate to use official gunmen in an election campaign as per the Code of Conduct. Therefore, I think it is necessary to investigate and take action against this attempt to destroy the electoral environment by threatening gunmen during the campaign. Besides, I request to take departmental action against Constable Mamun Mia after an investigation.
In view of the said complaint, on the instructions of the Election Commission, Abu Reza Nadvi MP’s gunman, Mamun Mia, was recalled and attached to the Chittagong district police line.
It is known that police constable Mamun Mia was engaged in the overall security of MP Abu Reza Nadvi, the two-time elected member of parliament of this constituency, as a gunman for the past 8 years.
When asked about the withdrawal of Gunman, Professor Dr. Abu Reza Muhammad Nezamuddin Nadvi, MP, told the media, “Mamun recovered after being ill for a long time and engaged in my security.” Mamun was with me as my security guard. The supporters of the Chittagong-15 Constituency Boat have been attacked and threatened in various ways, and on December 21, supporters of independent candidates attacked, beat, and hacked many activists, including my friend Rizia Reza of the Charati Union of Satkania, General Secretary of the Upazila Chhatra League Mannan, and local chairman Ruhullah. Several people were seriously injured. So Mamun was with me for security; he was not on campaign; he was in charge of my overall security. He did not campaign, he did not distribute any kind of money, and my opponent candidate made false and fabricated complaints to the Election Commission.
He also said, Mamun Namaz Kalam is an incredibly good boy; he was in charge of my security for 8 years, and he was always diligent about my security. Now I feel insecure as my wife, brother-in-law, and supporters have already been attacked several times. I will apply to the Election Commission to take measures to ensure my security.
