Train hits sand-laden truck in Mymensingh, 4 killed

Mymensingh Correspondent: Four people were killed when a sand-laden truck collided with a train in Shambhuganj, Mymensingh. Train movement on the Bhairab-Netrakona route has been stopped due to this incident.

The OC of Kotwali Model Police Station confirmed the truth of the accident. Main Uddin and Inspector (Investigation) Anwar Hossain of the same police station.

The accident took place at the railway crossing behind Shambhuganj GKP College on Monday (December 25) around 1:30 p.m. Initially, it was not possible to identify the names of the victims.

Describing the accident, eyewitnesses said that the Balaka Express train coming from Jaria in Durgapur was crossing the Shambhuganj Char Raghurampur railway crossing in Mymensingh. However, as there was no barrier, a truck loaded with sand fell from the road onto the railway line. At that time, the truck fell on the side of the railway track due to the impact of the train. In this incident, the train stopped about 1 km ahead. Attempts are being made to rescue the injured. Two people injured in this incident have been taken to Mymensingh Medical College (MMEC) Hospital.
