Jessore Correspondent: The truck driver and his assistant were killed when a train ran over a railway crossing in Jessore in dense fog.
Jessore Railway Police Inspector Shahidul Islam said that the accident took place at the Churamankati railway crossing under Sadar upazila around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Among the deceased, Parvez (26), the driver of the truck, belongs to Kakmari village in Kotchandpur upazila of Jhenaidah. And Nazmul Hasan (28) was the driver’s assistant; his house is in Azampur village in Maheshpur upazila of the same district.
The cargo truck was heading towards Chowagacha Market in Jessore. It fell in front of the Khulna-bound rocket mail while crossing the railway crossing in dense fog.
The truck overturned due to the impact of the train. The driver and his assistant died on the spot.
Later, the police and fire service personnel went and removed the accident truck and sent the two bodies to the Jessore General Hospital morgue.
