Chakaria Correspondent: A brother and sister die after being run over by a bus on their way to see a train in Dulahazara. Another child was seriously injured. He was rescued and admitted to Malumghat Christian Hospital.
The accident happened in front of Dullahazara Islamia Madrasa on the highway at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 7.
The two deceased children are Saba Rahman (8) and Abdur Rahman (6), the daughters of Saudi expatriate Nasir Uddin of East Maijpara village in Dullahazara Union. Abdul Gafur’s daughter, Nusrat Jahan (5), was injured.
Meanwhile, after the accident, there was a long traffic jam on both sides of the road. Passengers suffer. Later, the Malumghat Highway Police reached the spot and arranged the traffic.
Locals said that three siblings left the house to see the train going to Cox’s Bazar around 6:30 a.m. While crossing the highway, a bus bound for Cox’s Bazar hit three people. Siblings Saba Rahman and Abdur Rahman died on the spot. Meanwhile, my cousin Nusrat Jahan was injured. The injured child was rescued and admitted to the local Malumghat Christian Hospital. His condition is critical.
Malumghat Highway Police Outpost SI Mustafa Kamal said the killer bus has been impounded. The bodies of the two children have been handed over to their families.
