Jamalpur Representative: Election Commissioner (EC). Alamgir said that foreigners have no pressure on the Election Commission regarding the parliamentary elections, and they have no right to pressure.

He said this to the journalists at the end of the exchange meeting at the Jamalpur District Commissioner’s office conference room on Wednesday (December 6) at 11 a.m.

Is there any pressure from the international community? Election Commissioner in response to such questions. Alamgir said that no one has the right to put any pressure on the election. There is no pressure on us. Foreigners want to know from us whether we have taken steps to make elections fair, impartial, and beautiful.

Regarding the violation of the code of conduct, he said that many people do not read the code of conduct, the reasons for breaking the code of conduct, and what they do to violate the code of conduct. If a candidate repeatedly violates the code of conduct, he or she will not be excused. All necessary steps will be taken by the Election Commission to ensure free, fair, and credible elections, and voters can cast their votes without hindrance.

The Election Commissioner said that if we can do the voting freely, fairly, and peacefully, if the voters can go to the polling stations freely, and if the candidates and their supporters can campaign for the election, I have come here. Law enforcement agencies have no reports of voters not being able to go to polling stations.

In response to a question about not allowing the Awami League political program and the BNP program on December 10, the EC said that since the Awami League is in the election, the election code of conduct is applicable. BNP did not seek permission from us; it may seek police permission for the assembly. That’s a police matter.

He said that the police are carrying out election duties, and if the Awami League’s political program is allowed, the engagement of law and order forces will increase, which may lead to violations of the Awami League’s election code of conduct, so the rally was not allowed.
