City Reporter: Two buses were set on fire in Chittagong City within half an hour. A bus driver was burned. The incident took place in Akbarshah and Dampara on Sunday (December 3) night.
Eyewitnesses said miscreants set fire to the driver’s seat of a bus standing in the Dampara area of the city around 10 p.m. The bus driver was burned. Various parts of his body, including his chest and back, were burned. Earlier, a bus standing on the road in front of Akbarshah Mazar of Akbarshah police station was set on fire at around 9:30 p.m. There were no passengers on the bus.
Deputy Assistant Director of Agrabad Fire Service and Civil Defense Abdur Razzaq said miscreants set fire to a bus on the road in front of Akbarshah Shrine. Local people extinguished the fire before reaching the spot.
Officer-in-charge of Khulshi police station Rubel Howladar said miscreants set fire to the driver’s seat of a bus in the Dampara area. The driver was burned. Efforts are on to identify and arrest those involved.
