Mirsarai Correspondent: Three laborers were killed when a speeding lorry ran over them in Mirsarai, Tottagram. The accident took place on Saturday (November 25) around 7:30 am in Worless Bisik area of Dhaka-Chittagong highway.
The deceased in the accident are – son of Abul Kalam of Soukhetu Para of Sujanagar police station of Pabna district. Alamgir Hossain (45), son of Malek Bepari of Raipur area of the same police station. Shafiqul Islam (42) and Masud Mia (35) son of Humayon Kabir of Andidil area of Ashuganj police station of Brahmanbaria district. All those killed were working on the Kurnphuli gas line.
According to witnesses and police sources, two people lost their lives on the spot when a speeding lorry towards Chittagong ran over them while walking on the side of the road on Saturday morning.
Another seriously injured person was taken to Mirsrai Upazila Health Complex where he died. In the accident, another worker was sent away with serious injuries. But his identity was not found.
Sohel Sarkar, in-charge of Zorarganj Highway Police Station, said that three people were killed when a speeding lorry hit Chittagong at around 7:30 am on Saturday morning. The bodies of the deceased have been kept at the police station. The lorry was seized and brought to the police station, but the driver escaped. The bodies will be handed over to the families after the legal process. The case is being prepared in this case.
