Satkania Correspondent: Two bikers lost their lives in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a cargo pickup in Satkania. The accident took place on Sunday (November 19) at 11 o’clock in the Khalek shop area of the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway.
The deceased are Arif Hossain (23) and Manmat Bairagi (35). Arif is the son of Yunus Ali of Baragachi Andipur village in Bholahat police station in Chapainawabganj and a sales representative of RFL Company. Manmat Bairagi is the son of Swachindra Nath Bairagi of Kaurekha village in Ujirpur Police Station, Barisalor, and the local sales representative of Royal Cement Company.
Khan Muhammad Erfan, OC of Dohazari Highway Police Station, said that on Sunday morning, two people on a motorcycle on their way to Cox’s Bazar, when they reached Khalek’s shop area next to Kenochia Motherbari Dim House Community Center, collided with a cargo pickup van coming from the opposite direction. When they were rescued and taken to the hospital, the doctor declared both of them dead. Police seized two vehicles involved in the accident. OC said that legal action will be taken in this regard.
