Jamalpur Correspondent: Miscreants set fire to three compartments of the Jamuna Express train at Sarishabari railway station in Jamalpur. The train was set on fire at 1:20 a.m. on Saturday, November 18. The train was standing at the station.
Fire Service Media Cell Officer Talha bin Jassim confirmed the matter to the media. The fire service could not confirm who set the fire.
Talha bin Jasim said that two units of fire service worked to control the fire within 10 minutes after receiving the news of the fire in the train. The policemen are cooperating in this. Miscreants set fire to three compartments together.
He also said that the fire service did not know of any news of casualties in this incident. The train was supposed to leave for Dhaka at 2 a.m.
Incidentally, BNP has called a 48-hour strike for Sunday (November 19). This hartal has been called in protest against the unilateral announcement of the National Assembly election schedule.
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced this program in a virtual press conference last Thursday (November 16) afternoon. He said, I am announcing a 48-hour strike across the country, including Dhaka, from 6 a.m. on Sunday to 6 a.m. on Tuesday (November 21).
Also, Jamaat-e-Islami and some like-minded groups have called for a 48-hour strike starting Sunday.
