City Reporter: A bus was set on fire in the Chandgaon area of Chittagong, and a mini truck was set on fire in the Karnaphuli area. Karnaphuli Police Station, OC Zahir Hossain; Chandgaon Police Station, OC Zahedul Kabir; and Agrabad Fire Service Assistant Director, Md. Abdur Razzaq.
These two fire incidents took place on Saturday (November 18) between 8:00 and 9:00 PM. According to police sources, the bus and the truck were burned due to a mechanical fault.
Deputy Assistant Director of the Agrabad Fire Service Abdur Razzak said, “A moving mini truck caught fire on the road adjacent to the toll plaza of Shah Amanat Setu of Karnaphuli police station at around eight o’clock in the night.” Fire service personnel reached the spot after receiving the information and brought the fire under control.
On the other hand, a bus caught fire at the Bahaddarhat bus stand area around 9 p.m. On receiving the information, two units of Kalurghat station brought the fire under control.
Zahir Hossain, OC of Karnaphuli police station, said, “Due to a mechanical fault, the moving mini truck caught fire. There were no casualties.
Jahedul Kabir, OC of Chandgaon police station, said, “The workers said that the fire broke out from the battery junction of the bus. However, the incident (sabotage or not) is being investigated.
