Rajshahi Correspondent: Likhan Hossain, an employee of a private company, was hacked to death by uprooting a palm tree in Bagha, Rajshahi.
The murder incident took place around 11 a.m. on Tuesday (November 14) around the incident of fish release in Padma. Likhan Hossain is said to be the son of Sadek Ali of Kishorepur village in the Pakuria Union of Upazila.
It is known that Likhon (34) and his family fished in Padma reservoir below Kishorepur village in the Pakuria union of the upazila. Nasif Hossain (35), son of Bachchu Hossain of the same village, stopped the fish farming on his own claim. There was an argument between them on Monday afternoon. Then, on Tuesday, around 11 a.m., Likhan was standing next to Hussain’s house. As a result of the previous day, the opponent, Nafiz, cut and injured him by swinging a palm tree. Local people rescued Likhon while he was injured and took him to Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Hasena Begum, the mother of the deceased writer, said that my son works for a private company in Dhaka. He came home on Sunday. Nasif hacked him to death. I want justice.
Abdur Quader Molla, UP member of Ward No. 6 of the local Pakuria Union and Kishorepur village, said they are neighbors. Likhan Hussain has no land. Due to the decrease in water in the Padma, some bodies of water have formed. The fish left there a few days ago. On the other hand, he claimed Nasif Hossain’s land on the banks of the Padma and prohibited fish farming in the reservoir. An argument took place between the two. At one point the next day, Nafiz-Likhon was killed by a palm tree.
Bagha Police Station OC Investigation Sabuj Rana said, after receiving information, the body was recovered from Upazila Health Complex and sent to Ramek Hospital morgue. The case is being prepared in this regard. Efforts are on to arrest Nafiz.
