Additional DIGs are 152 police officers

Dhaka Bureau: 152 police officers have been promoted to the post of Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police (Additional DIG) (Grade 4). Among them, 140 are supernumerary additional DIGs.

Two separate notifications have been issued by the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday (November 6) promoting these officers of the BCS police cadre.

Mahbubur Rahman Sheikh, senior assistant secretary of the public security department of the Ministry of Home Affairs, signed both notifications.

In a notification, 12 Superintendents of Police (SP) have been promoted to the post of Additional DIG. In that notification, Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police Abdul Warish, Superintendent of Police of Tangail Mohammad Kaiser, Deputy Commissioner of DMP Muhammad Ashraf Hossain, Superintendent of Police AHM Abdur Rakib of Kushtia, Deputy Commissioner of DMP Mohammad Anisur Rahman, ABM Masud Hossain, Md. Shahidullah, Superintendent of Police of Khulna Naval Police Mohammad Sharifur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman, Superintendent of Police of Bogra Sudip Kumar Chakraborty, Superintendent of Police of Jessore Praloy Kumar Jowardar, and Deputy Commissioner of DMP Asma Siddika Milli were informed about the additional DIG.

In another notification, 140 people have been promoted to the post of Additional DIG (Grade-IV) of Super Numerary.

Incidentally, supernumerary posts mean that the posts will automatically lapse if they become vacant due to promotion, retirement, removal, or any other reason.
