Dhaka Bureau: The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested 10 people in connection with the stabbing and wounding of three policemen in Narayanganj’s Araihazar upazila. They were arrested at a five-star hotel in the capital’s Gulshan on Thursday morning (November 2).
The specialized force of the police did not give the detailed names and identities of those initially arrested. RAB’s Legal and Media Wing Assistant Director, ANM Imran Khan, confirmed this information. He said, “On the basis of secret information in the morning, a raid was conducted on that five-star hotel in Gulshan.” At this time, 10 people were arrested in the incident of vandalism and violence, and three policemen were injured. Legal action is being taken against them.
Meanwhile, the Awami League, Jubo League, and Chhatra League have occupied the Dhaka-Sylhet highway since this morning.
It is to be noted that BNP clashed with police, Awami League leaders, and activists in the Panchrukhi Bazar area of the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Araihazaar last Tuesday. At one stage, three policemen were injured by hacking and beatings. At least 20 people were injured. The three injured policemen are inspector Humayun Kabir, assistant sub-inspector Md. Matin, and constable Nurul.
