Dhaka Bureau: US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas went to the election building in Agargaon, the capital. He held a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal.
The meeting with the Chief Election Commissioner started at 10 a.m. on Tuesday (October 31). US Embassy official Arturo Hines was also present in the meeting.
It is assumed that this meeting was held in view of the next national parliament elections.
Earlier, Ambassador Peter Haas had a meeting with the Chief Election Commissioner on August 1 this year. After the meeting, Kazi Habibul Awal said that a favorable environment is needed for elections. The crisis that prevails is political. Our work has no conflict with it. But if these problems are solved politically, then it will be very comfortable for us to hold elections.
